I have lived in Buffalo since 1967 when I first
attended college at the University at Buffalo. I studied psychology, social work and sociology. I am indebted to my alma mater
because besides earning my BA, MSW, and PHD at UB, I met my husband there.
My first professional jobs were in college counseling
centers. After the birth of our son, I changed my job from couselor to social work professor. I've been working at
Buffalo State College since 1977. An early student of mine gave me a banner which said: Bloom where you are planted! In
the back of my mind, this has served as a personal motto.
My husband and I are empty-nesters for the moment. We
enjoy athletics, reading, movies, music, and the company of family and good friends. We still work and play hard.
